Learning about human rights

This month, Oxfam Australia supported 30 young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders from around Australia to take part in a human rights advocacy and diplomacy training program.

The five-day program held in Sydney trained these young people, including Indigenous action partners and allies from Oxfam's International Youth Partnerships, in international human rights law, a rights-based approach to community development, and lobbying and campaigning skills.

This initiative is just one of the ways we are working with young Indigenous men and women to develop their leadership capacity, strengthen their networks and actively engage with their communities and the wider society.
