Join the Oxfam Australia team in November for the Rat Race, a new and exciting event in Melbourne, and help raise much needed funds for our long term development work.
What is the Rat Race?
Coming to Australia for the first time, the Rat Race sees competitors in teams of three running, biking, climbing, kayaking, abseiling and navigating their way around the city in a course that is only revealed hours before they begin.
A physical and mental challenge, previous events have been run in London, Manchester, Belfast and Edinburgh.
The format of the event will include the Mean Streets Prologue and the Total Adventure
Mean Streets Prologue
Saturday night only (5 to 8pm) – quick, exhilarating and extremely entertaining. A foot-based event, where teams collect as many zany checkpoints as they can in 3 hours, door to door. Suitable for any ability. Bring a pair of runners and a sense of humour.
Total Adventure
Saturday night and all day Sunday. You do the Mean Streets Prologue, and then on Sunday embark on an adventure city-wide, that will take you at least 70km all over Melbourne - by bike, boat, foot and rope!
Race for Oxfam Australia
Oxfam Australia is the Official Series National Charity for the Rat Race.
Register for the Oxfam Australia Rat Race team and you will not only receive a 50% discounted registration rate but will be supported through all elements of your fundraising. We'll also be there on event day at the village (both Saturday and Sunday) for any questions and support.
Early Bird Offer
From October 4 - November 14, pay a registration fee of $75 per person (or $225 per team) and pledge to raise a minimum of $600 between all three team members.
From November 15 - November 20, pay a registration fee of $80 per person (or $240 per team) and pledge to raise a minimum of $600 between all three team members.
