As an Australian agency, Oxfam Australia has a particular responsibility to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to exercise their rights to basic social services, sustainable livelihoods, a strong voice and cultural diversity in their country.
The Oxfam Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Reference Group provides advice and guidance to Oxfam including discussion of our current programs, analysis of our strengths and weaknesses and strategic advice and direction for the best approach to supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people's rights.
The Reference Group plays a key role in maintaining Oxfam's accountability and knowledge of the wider political environment and national strategies in Indigenous affairs.
